Habibi LKF remains at the pinnacle of restaurants in Hong Kong serving Middle Eastern cooking. Presiding over the kitchen is Chef Mohsen, from Cairo, who comes from a five-star hotel background in Cairo and has been cooking for more than 40 years. He is the consummate wrapper and roller, and prepares delicious marinades using a plethora of herbs and spices, and is also expert at stuffing vegetables. The kitchen is certified Halal, and there’s also a great selection of vegetarians dishes – hot and cold mezzes as well as main courses. At lunch there’s an extremely popular and diverse buffet lunch, featuring key items from the a la carte menu which is offered at dinner time. The restaurant has a private bar area, and a semi-private from for 15 people. The restaurant manager is Mahmoud, also from Cairo, who successfully brings experience from his days in sales and marketing to the restaurant business, for which he is clearly made! There’s a very interesting wine list, with many labels from the Very Old World including Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Italy.
